Supervises children in a variety of settings; ensures children are in safe areas; implements and gathers materials for appropriate activities for children that will help develop oral language skills, fine and gross motor skills, problem solving, and personal-social skills; maintains developmental profile of children; ensures that proper forms have been completed by parents and coordinates information to appropriate administrators; keeps records of children as necessary to assure quality care; reports to administrators any signs of illness or distress of a child and records it into the child’s record; reports any evidence of child abuse to an administrator immediately; gives each child individual, specialized attention each day; prepares snacks and other appropriate nutrition for children; changes diapers and/or toilet trains; participates in parent conferences and discusses the items noted in the child’s record with the parents; answers parents’ questions regarding their child’s progress; discusses the child’s special abilities with parents and incorporates notes into the child’s record.Any combination of education and experience equal to graduation from high school All personnel shall be given on-the-job training or shall have related experience that demonstrates knowledge of and skill in the areas listed above Six units of Early Childhood Education are desirable Possession of Infant First Aid and CPR certificate upon employment

The Baldwin Park Unified School District is recruiting for Substitute Child Care Providers. Under the general supervision of an administrator, the Child Care Provider will provide supervision and direct care for children ages 0-5. For a full description of the classification, please review the job description.

The selection process tentatively consists of the District application review, and interviews. The Human Resources Department will contact all applicants once the selection process has been finalized. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination of education and experience equal to graduation from high school. All personnel shall be given on-the-job training or shall have the related experience that demonstrates knowledge of and skills in the areas listed above. Six units of Early Childhood Education are desirable. REQUIRED LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATES: Possession of Infant First Aid and CPR certification upon employment. Submit the following with your on-line application for interview consideration:

  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Proof of HS Graduation (Copy of High School Diploma, GED or Transcripts is required)
