Its location, coupled with its diverse student population, allows students the opportunity to learn to excel in a global society and interact effectively with people of all backgrounds, races, and ethnicities. The student population in the district is reflective of the diversity in California, with 45% who identify as Hispanic/Latino, 8.2% as Asian, 2.4% as African-American/Black, 2.1% as Pacific Islander, .2% as Native American, and 34.9% as White. SUHSD is committed to advancing racial, gender identity, and sexuality equity in order to ensure that all students are welcomed in a safe environment that values diversity. The district seeks to hire, support, and retain staff members that reflect the diversity of its student population. Description of Prospective Applicants We encourage applicants with diverse backgrounds and experiences to apply, specifically anti-bias educators who are racially conscious, equity-focused, and motivated to support the success of all of our students.
