To provide a comprehensive counseling program for all children in elementary schools. Consult with teachers, parents and staff to enhance their effectiveness in helping students. Provide support to other elementary educational programs.

Minimum Qualifications: 1. CREDENTIAL: California credential Pupil Personnel Services authorizing School Counselor. 2. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: bachelor's degree in psychology, social work or closely related field; work experience at the elementary level is desirable. 3. PERSONAL QUALITIES: Maintain a professional appearance; meet District standards for physical and mental health; demonstrate enthusiasm for assignment and willingness to participate in supervision of extracurricular activities; demonstrate ability to maintain cooperative relations with others. 4. PROFESSIONAL RECOMMENDATIONS: Better than average recommendations from professionals who have acted as supervisor and observed or evaluated performance and scholastic attainment. 5. BILINGUAL PREFERRED, but not required (English/Spanish).
