          POSITION Physical Education Teacher at Hayfork Elementary School and Hayfork High School. THE DISTRICT Mountain Valley Unified School District, located in Trinity County, has a total enrollment of 309 students serving the communities of Hayfork and Hyampom. The district is comprised of three sites: a K-8 elementary school, a 9-12 necessary small high school, a 9-12 continuation high school, along with an After School Program, and a Pre-K School Readiness Program. Our district welcomes a new member to our school community. THE COMMUNITY The Mountain Valley Unified School District is located in the northeast part of California. The District is located 1½ hours west of Redding and 2½ hours east of Eureka via winding mountain roads. Hayfork is the largest town in the district with a population of 2,000. Hayfork’s elevation is 2300 feet and the climate provides four distinct seasons. The area offers an abundance of hiking, camping, hunting, and water activities, making it a perfect location for an avid outdoor enthusiast. Hayfork has stores and shops that offer the essential goods and services. Weaverville, the county seat, is located 32 miles northeast of Hayfork and offers additional services. If you are looking for a shopping center --Macy’s, JC Penney, Target, Costco, etc., -- you must travel to Redding or Eureka.
