Job Summary

Job Summary

Sage Oak, in compliance with the current California Department of Public Health order, requires all paid and unpaid workers to either be fully vaccinated or test weekly for COVID-19. Please note, requirements are subject to change based on current legislative updates. Education Advisor (EAs) support high school students in meeting their educational goals and ensuring they are successful in an independent study environment. Required duties include administrative responsibilities and completion of all required paperwork as outlined below. EAs are required to participate in all staff meetings, trainings and/or sessions scheduled as well as develop and build community opportunities for the students, families, and community providers within the region(s) they serve. EAs are expected to uphold the school's mission and shared values, philosophy, and policies and procedures. EAs meet with students in person at the beginning of each semester and may meet students virtually for learning period meetings so long as the virtual learning period meeting (LPM) format is beneficial to the student.

  • Credential Copy (Proof of valid, current, and appropriate California teaching credential as a PDF print out from CTC (copy should reflect dates of issuance and expiration))
  • English Learner Authorization (If not embedded in credential, provide a copy of CLAD, CTEL or equivalent)
  • Letter of Introduction
  • Letter(s) of Recommendation (Three (3) current, professional letters of recommendation (at least one from a direct supervisor))
  • Resume
  • Test Results/Materials (Test Results/Materials, if applicable (CTC approved subject matter authorization exam scores such as the CSET, MSAT, NTE, CTEL, Praxis or equivalent))
