Job Description / Essential Elements:    Print   

Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, oversee the activities of students utilizing the locker room at an assigned high school; perform a variety of cleaning duties. Oversee the activities of students utilizing the locker room; assign lockers to students; assist students having problems with their locks; maintain physical education office, locker room and gymnasium in a clean and orderly condition; clean and sanitize locker room restrooms including sinks, toilets, shower stalls, floors, mirrors, windows and walls; change light bulbs; fill paper and soap dispensers; assist in estimating need for physical education and athletic supplies and equipment; prepare requisitions; maintain inventory records; order, receive, store and issue equipment, uniforms and supplies; issue loaned uniforms to students; wash and fold returned garments; load locker room vending machines; assist in the set up of gym equipment for a variety of student activities; clean backboards and bleacher areas as needed.

Education/Experience: Any combination equivalent to: demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed. Knowledge/Ability: Knowledge of cleaning procedures, equipment, tools, materials and supplies used in custodial work; requirements of maintaining school buildings in a safe, clean and orderly condition; interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy; health and safety regulations and procedures; basic record-keeping techniques. The ability to use common cleaning equipment and supplies safely and efficiently; observe health and safety regulations; maintain offices and other school facilities in a clean, safe and secure condition; communicate effectively with students; oversee activities of students in the locker room; and administer first aid. Licenses/ Other: A valid California drivers’ license and a driving record acceptable to the District for insurance purposes. First Aid and CPR certification required.
