The California Montessori Project is a public K-8 charter program using research-based Montessori pedagogy in providing academic choice for the greater Sacramento area, Elk Grove and Shingle Springs. The Instructional Assistant assists the teacher in improving the quality of educational opportunities, supervision of students, and instructional tasks which, in the judgment of the teacher, may be performed by a non-credentialed employee. The work need not be performed in the presence of the teacher, but the teacher retains responsibility for instruction and supervision. Instructional Assistants work part-time, Monday through Friday, 20-28 hours per week, depending on the assignment. Most assignments are commonly scheduled from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm but can vary depending on the campus and grade level assignment. This position is an hourly, part-time employee, and no additional health and welfare benefits are provided. Candidates should have experience working with students in a classroom setting. Minimum qualifications for application: * High School diploma with either 48 college units, AA degree, or Paraprofessional exam certificate. * Montessori training and experience desired but not required. Montessori certification preferred.
