Established in 1881 and serving as a one-teacher, 1st – 8th grade, single-room school up until the mid-1950s, the history of Lakeside School is deeply intertwined with the Los Gatos and the Santa Cruz Mountains. The bulk of our current campus was built in 1967, with our Community Center completed in 2004. Kindergarten was finally added in 1984. Lakeside’s largest enrollment peaked in 1986 with 180 students. Today, Lakeside serves Preschool through 5th grade on its Black Road campus. Job Summary
Lakeside Elementary School is seeking motivated, child-centered, collaborative teachers who have a passion for working with young learners and are seeking a small school environment (in a mountain setting, ten minutes from downtown Los Gatos) where they have the ability to positively influence the school’s culture and collaborate with the school leadership team. Lakeside Elementary School welcomes teachers who have a desire to become teacher-leaders, are innovative and well organized and enjoy working within a school that is the heart and jewel of a small community. Lakeside teachers are open-minded, whole child, inclusive oriented, educators who are dedicated to delivering world class, student centric, broad-based, meaningful and purposeful learning opportunities for every child.
