Requirements / Qualifications
The El Dorado County Office of Education Charter Alternative Programs is looking for a talented individual to join our Charter Administration team as a Principal II who provides complete oversight of two charter programs – Charter University Prep (CUPrep) and Charter Connections Academy (CCA). These distinguished learning models provide high-quality alternative education options to create an enriching educational experience for students in grades 7-12, with an emphasis on positive reinforcement and relationship building. Both programs utilize a variety of curriculum centered on the Common Core standards, while taking into account students’ individual needs and learning styles, to prepare all students for college and career success. CUPrep provides rigorous curriculum and instruction that focuses on addressing complex ideas and critical thinking for success at the University level. CCA encompasses grades 9-12 with small class sizes twice-weekly, in additional to taking online courses, to prepare students to seamlessly transition to their choice of community college, vocational training, the military, and the business world. We teach students in both programs to effectively use emerging technologies and manage their own time and resources using a college-like educational model. Outside of class, students complete home assignments, pursue electives, take community college courses, maintain physical education activities, participate in internships, or work in the business world.
