Qualifications: Transportation of passengers on regularly scheduled routes. Possess a current California Driver's Licence with a clean record. Essential Duties: Operate assigned school use vehicle on assigned trips in accordance with printed trip schedules and in accordance with specified stop, sequence, and time schedules; board, transport, and discharge passengers. Load, unload, and ensure security of, equipment and cargo. Develop via-directions; maintain and update current pupil and trip manifests, via-directions, and special instructions pertaining to daily assignments. Inspect, verify, and monitor the operational condition and safety of vehicle accessories and assigned vehicles on a daily basis. Practice non-aggressive, defensive driving techniques; anticipate and immediately report maneuvering, traffic, and time entrapments while operating OLP equipment. Monitor gauges and sensors while operating vehicle, report discrepancies, and initiate corrective action. Monitor, conduct, and respond to communications with Transportation Services Department staff. Communicate with the Director of Facilities or Transportation Lead on a daily basis regarding route or equipment problems, community/school staff special requests, or changes to daily assignments. Maintain effective professional working relationships with pupils, parents, and school employees. Enforce school policy and procedure.
