Are you looking for a part-time job? Make a difference in kids’ lives! Be an integral staff member of Food Service Staff at Santa Cruz City Schools! Under the direction of the Site Lead in coordination with the Director-Food Services, assists in the preparation and serving of hot and cold foods in the central kitchen and/or a school cafeteria; perform routine cashiering duties; maintain food service facilities, equipment and utensils in a clean and sanitary condition.

      Knowledge of: * Basic food preparation including washing, cutting and assembling food items and ingredients. * Basic kitchen utensils and equipment. * Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy. * Proper lifting techniques. * Packaging and distribution of large quantities of food. * Basic math and cashiering skills. * Oral and written communication skills with co-workers and the student population. * Basic record keeping. * Sanitation principles applicable to food serving and kitchen maintenance. * Quantify food preparation and handling.
