This position will be employed by our new endeavor, The Collaborative Charter Services Organization, which is a nonprofit entity that serves charter schools. The purpose of the business is to alleviate charter schools by providing administrative support and services in the areas of board governance, human resources, students services, special education and special projects. We are seeking a highly motivated, subject matter expert to serve in the capacity of Director of Fiscal Services to develop and implement fiscal policy and procedures; oversee operations; provide subject matter expertise; ensure accurate budget development, accounting, audit and monitoring; and oversee reporting compliance of the nonprofit corporation and all assigned member charter schools. The Director of Fiscal Services serves as a member of the leadership team and as the financial leader of the organization to implement the fiscal policy direction as set forth by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and the Board of Directors of The Collaborative Charter Services Organization (CSO). Working in collaboration with the Cabinet and the schools’ leadership teams, the Director of Fiscal Services has the responsibility of coordinating the financial operations of the nonprofit corporation and all assigned member charter schools; ensuring compliance with all applicable standards of fiscal management and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP); implementing plans and policies for fiscal sustainability; and reporting of current and projected fiscal status to the CSO Board of Directors, member charter schools’ Board of Directors, and authorizing oversight entities. The Director of Fiscal Services will advise the CEO, the member charter schools, and the Board of Directors on matters related to purchasing; accounts payables/receivables; information technology; budget development, forecasting, and compliance; and provide oversight to assigned staff.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or master's degree in business administration, public administration, or related field preferred. Professional certification in school business services Five (5) years of responsible experience in school business administration preferably including experience or training in public charter schools business management. Knowledge of nonprofit fiscal services preferred.

Hold and maintain a valid California Driver’s License; proof of automobile insurance; and full time use of a dependable automobile that is insured pursuant to California regulations. State and federal background clearance (LiveScan) to work with students (Education Code Section 44237). No prospective employee can report to work without this clearance being received and Human Resources notifying the immediate supervisor of this clearance. Proof of a clear TB test dated within the last 60 days (Education Code Section 49406) upon employment and thereafter updated every four years.
