The Lawndale Elementary School District's Southwest Special Education Local Plan Area (SW SELPA) program is seeking a qualified Braille Transcriber to join our team. The Braille Transcriber transcribes a wide variety of kindergarten through 12th grade (K-12) instructional materials, textbooks, graphs, and charts into Braille and large print. Minimum Requirements: Two years of paid or volunteer experience producing and formatting into Braille literary and Nemeth Code of Mathematics. Equivalency Provision: Possession of Library of Congress certificate in literary and mathematics Braille transcribing may substitute for one year of the required experience. Two years' experience as a Paraeducator–Braille Transcriber will meet the above experience requirement.
