Immediate Opening K-8 Resource Specialist/Special EducationTeacher Twin Ridges Elementary School District (TRESD) has an immediate opening for a certificated Resource Specialist/ Special Education Teacher in a small rural school district in the Northern California Sierra Foothills. TRESD offers a low student-teacher ratio with an abundance of special education support. Fewer than one hundred total students make up the student body of this two-school District. Are you a dynamic educator, passionate about teaching, committed to your craft, and feel drawn by the prospect of living and teaching in small-town rural California? The Resource Specialist is designed to provide services to students with learning disabilities, to provide programs and instruction, which promote cognitive, academic, communication, behavioral, social and physical development.
Knowledge/Requirements: Assess and screens students, which have been referred by school staff and/or parents in accordance with, established screening provedures. Diagnoses students eligibility to receive appropriate services. Plans, administers, and interprets student evaluations. Meets with parents/guardians on a regular basis to review students progress. Provides training, direction and supervision for assigned ancillary staff. Prepares documentation for the purpose of providing written support and or conveying information.
