About the Employer

We are a unified school district serving more than 16,150 students in grades K -12. We have thirteen elementary schools, four middle schools, two comprehensive high schools, three specialized high schools, two alternative high schools and one K-8 school. We also offer a home schooling program, adult education courses and other unique programs to fit the needs of all students. Our school district employs approximately 1,100 certificated and nearly 900 classified employees. Antioch Unified School District is centrally located in the East Bay and provides ready access to scenic mountains, waterfronts, wine country, historical sites and the Pacific Ocean. Antioch is known as the “Gateway to the Delta” and is one of California’s oldest cities, with a diverse community of approximately 100,000. BASIC JOB FUNCTIONS: Under the direction of Manager, Technology or designee; assists in the support and maintenance of the daily activities of the Technology Department. Performs a variety of systems engineering duties of an entry to mid-level degree of complexity with server systems, storage and applications, and/or mid to high-end computing platforms. Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRES KNOWLEDGE OF: Server systems or systems engineering, including methods and procedures relative to analysis, design, engineering, installation, configuration, deployment, operations and management as it applies to departmental systems or assisting in supporting enterprise-wide systems, Servers, storage, client/server architecture, high availability systems, and ability to troubleshoot high-level network server system issues; the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of this particular field of specialization, complex oral and written instructions and completes assignments in an independent manner, principles, methods and procedures of operating computers, networks and peripheral equipment, basic system utilities and design and program applications, materials, methods and tools used in the operation, installation and repair of computer and systems, WAN and LAN usage, implementation and terminology, basic principles, theories and techniques of computer system design, installation, maintenance and repair of computer hardware, software and peripheral equipment (see attached job description for full details). EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: Equivalent to graduation from high school. Two years of progressively responsible experience in mid-complex networked server systems environments. Experience and or education equivalent to A+ Certification and Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) or higher. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Valid California driver’s license
