Under the supervision of the Director of Child Development or designee, the Disabilities/Mental Health Coordinator ensures that the programs adhere to the Head Start Act regulations/ Performance Standards, and state and local requirements regarding mental health and special needs services for young children birth to five years old. This position is distinguished by employment being determined by Policy Council for the portion paid with Head Start/Early Head Start Funds. Continued operation of the Head Start/Early Head Start Program and employment of staff is dependent on the availability of Federal Funding. **English/Spanish Bilingual Preferred**

Education/Experience: A combination of formal education, life experience and work experience are considered when evaluating qualifications. - A Bachelor’s degree or above in Child Development, Special Education, Social Work or related field is required - A valid Child Development Permit (minimum of Site Supervisor level) is required - Knowledge of Special Education & Mental Health services for children birth to five years old. - A minimum of three years recent experience working with families and children is required.
