Job Summary
Title of Position: Middle School Art Teacher Directly Responsible to: School Leader(s) Primary Function: The Art Teacher will be responsible for developing in each student an interest in and the ability for creative expression in visual terms, using skills and techniques of artistic expression. The Art Teacher will develop and implement an integrated art curriculum that utilizes constructivist instructional methods appropriate for each grade level. Create a healthy and safe learning environment that demonstrates respect for all and supports student success. Communicate and partner effectively with parents to support student learning. Evaluate student learning and adapt to evaluation data to continually improve our academic program. This position is also responsible for supporting the academic and socio/emotional growth of our diverse group of students. The Art Teacher communicates regularly with parents and establishes positive relationships with all stakeholders in our learning community.

Minimum Qualifications: (*) Bachelor’s Degree (*) TB Test clearance & DOJ finger printing clearance (*) 3+ successful years working with school-aged children (*) Familiarity with constructivist pedagogy (*) An enthusiasm for curriculum development to support a growing school program
