Requirements / Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in safety or related field. Two years of relevant experience may be substituted for one year of education. A maximum of eight years of experience may be used for substitution purposes. * Three years of field experience in occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, or risk management. * Ability to obtain Medic First Aid® CPR & First Aid instructor within one year of employment. * A valid California driver's license. * Ability to obtain Federal Bureau of Investigation and California Department of Justice fingerprint clearance as required by the California Education Code.

Schools Insurance Program for Employees (SIPE) was established in 1977 as a public agency joint powers authority (JPA), that provides a self-insured workers’ compensation program and risk management services to the public school districts and a community college district in San Luis Obispo County, California. SIPE's mission is to provide a quality workers' compensation program and a comprehensive, proactive risk management program that promotes the health and safety of employees and protects the assets of the member school districts.

Perform a variety of safety, health, loss control, and risk management services for twelve SIPE member school districts. Services include technical research and consultation, workplace and facility assessments, compliance reviews, accident investigations, develop education and training material, and train district employees.
