Highly sought after applicants will have:
  • At least two (2) years of recent (within the last five years) experience or participation as a coach in the specific sport for which you apply.
  • Knowledge in the care and prevention of athletic injuries, basic sports injuries, basic sports injury first aid, and emergency procedures.
  • Knowledge of coaching theory and techniques in the sport or game being coached.
  • Knowledge of the rules and regulations pertaining to the sport or game being coached, the league rules, and at high school level, the regulations of the CIF.
  • Knowledge of child or adolescent psychology as it relates to sports participation
Responsibilities:
  • Be a team player and work closely with varsity coach
    • Communicate and work closely with athletic director and other coaching staff to maintain or improve the total athletic program.
  • Maintain proficiency with rules and tactics. Be an eternal learner
  • Inculcate in the players a thorough understanding of District and CIF rules, sportsmanship, policies and regulations, and the District's code of ethics for athletic team coaches.
  • Responsible for the supervision of the athletes at all practices, training sessions, games, and any other extracurricular activity which is relevant to the sport.  This applies to activities within the District as well as outside of District property.
  • Perform such other duties as designated by the athletic director
  • Ensure that proper training and safety procedures are followed at all times.
  • Plan, organize, and implement the teaching of fundamentals, strategies, rules, and techniques.
  • Maintain properly supplied first aid kit and other emergency supplies.
  • Maintain current certification in CPR /First Aid and Sudden Cardiac Arrest training.
  • Travel to and from all away contests with the team bus
