About the Employer

Oak Grove School District has a total student enrollment of approximately 8,800 students from grades TK-8. We have 18 school campuses along with a TK-8 Virtual Learning Academy (VLA). Six out of eighteen schools receive Title I funds. The size of the schools range from approximately 730 students to 270 students. The percentage of English Learners is 29% representing 56 languages spoken in the District. Oak Grove School District’s focus is driven by the LCAP (Local Control Accountability Plan) and school site-specific SPSA (Single Plan for Student Achievement) which identifies short, intermediate, and long-term goals. First and foremost in all activities is the safety of students as well as student success in the areas of math and reading/language arts interwoven with science, social studies and visual and performing arts. Student performance goals have been integrated into the state and federal accountability systems. To perform responsible gardening work in the maintenance of district grounds. Employees in this classification receive general supervision from a supervisory level and within a framework of standard policies and procedures. This job class exercises independent judgment in the selection of work methods and procedures used in general gardening maintenance projects. Employees in this classification exercise responsibility for the upkeep and maintenance of assigned grounds.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Possession of a valid California Driver’s License. Knowledge of: grounds and gardening materials, tools and equipment and their safe use and maintenance; proper gardening methods, procedures and techniques; common decorative and landscaping plants, flowers, grasses, shrubs and trees. Skill to: read and write at a level sufficient to successfully perform required duties; understand and follow both oral and written instructions; maintain effective work relationships with those contacted in the performance of the job. Ability to meet the physical requirements necessary to safely and effectively perform required duties.
