St. Ignatius Parish School is located at 3245 Arden Way, Sacramento, CA. The school was established in 1954 and currently employs fifty-five faculty and staff, with an enrollment Pre-School-8th grade of 415 students. Classroom size ranges from 35-40 students. There will be a full-time aide that will assist the ELA teacher. The minimum requirement is a bachelor’s degree in English or a related field. California Single Subject Teaching Credential with ELA endorsement is preferred. A background in teaching middle school or higher ELA is required with a focus on Literature, Writing, Public Speaking, Vocabulary, and Grammar integrating technology when possible using Google classroom and Chromebooks on a regular basis. A strong emphasis is placed on the Catholic faith and its growth in our students and the student’s progress towards achievement of the Schoolwide Learning Expectations of Religious, Loving, Intellectually Competent, Open to Growth, and Committed to Doing Justice. The teacher is entrusted directly with the spiritual and academic preparation of students, fostering knowledge, skills, and understanding. The teacher is further entrusted with the student’s social and personal growth, providing guidance and example that promote our Jesuit virtues, responsible behavior, and self- fulfillment. The teacher performs this trust in cooperation with the parents, who are the primary educators of their children, with the assistance of support staff and under the direction of the school’s administration.
