Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, we humbly welcome you to the San Mateo-Foster City School District! Our district educates approximately 10,500 students (representing 50 languages) in preschool through eighth grades in 22 outstanding schools. Our family of schools includes three middle schools (Grades 6–8), fifteen elementary schools (TK/K–5), three schools with all grades (K–8), and one Early Education Center. We also have preschools co-located at our six elementary sites. We have various theme based schools: Montessori, Immersion (Spanish and Mandarin), and STEM. ACHIEVEMENT GOAL: Create learning opportunities for ALL Pre-K through 8th students resulting in closing the achievement gap and culminating in personal and academic success in high school and beyond. San Mateo-Foster City is accepting applications for our Montessori Teacher Pool for the 2020-2021 school year! We are seeking Montessori teachers trained to work with three to six year olds, six to nine year olds, and nine to twelve year olds in a public Montessori magnet program. Qualifications: Montessori teaching credential and experience (preferred) or willingness to obtain Montessori credential within 3 years. Education: *Montessori Credential (preferred) *Valid California Multi-Subject Teaching Credential *CLAD certification Knowledge of: *Montessori philosophy *Developmental stages of the elementary and/or adolescent child *Montessori lessons and materials for the age level for which applying *California Contact Standards Experience: Five years teaching in a Montessori elementary / upper elementary / adolescent program (preferred) *Experience with Special Needs, English Learners and Low Socio-Economic Students Salary:$59,769-$101,111 $1,500 stipend for MA $1,500 stipend for DR $1,000 stipend for Montessori Certification 10 days paid sick leave Fully paid medical/dental for employee!
