Castro Valley Unified School District is seeking Lifeguards for Seasonal Limited Term Assignments. HOURLY SALARY: $16.08 - $18.62 Afternoon/Evening & Weekend Shifts Available POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Castro Valley Unified School District is seeking part-time lifeguards for the Spring Sports Season. The job of Lifeguard is done for the purpose/s of providing support to the instructional program with specific responsibilities for ensuring the safety of students and adults using the pool during Swim Team practices. Assists in the opening/closing of the swim center for the purpose of allowing access by students and staff. Cleans pool facilities (e.g. swimming pool, deck, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining facility in a sanitary and safe condition. Evaluates situations involving other staff, students, parents, the public, etc. for the purpose of taking appropriate action and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution. Monitors swimming pool activities for the purpose of enforcing established policies; taking follow-up action for violations; and ensuring the safety and welfare of participants at the facility. Prepares documentation (e.g. incident and activity reports) for the purpose of providing written support and/or conveying information Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of addressing immediate safety concerns. Education Targeted, job related education with study in job-related area. Certificates and Licenses Current Lifeguard Certification Current First Aid and CPR Certification Mandatory Reporter Certificate prior to employment Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.
