          Seeking qualified candidates to support Pacific Charter Institute's Science Department and Academic Team. This position will be based out of Sacramento at our Broadway resource center but will also require some local travel on a weekly basis. This position will consist of unpacking large boxes of science supplies, putting the science kits together and shipping them out to the students. We are looking for someone who is very organized and can track inventory. This position will help with some clerical and project support to the Science Department and Academic Team which includes inventory and delivery of school science kits, ordering supplies, and planning for the school year. This candidate must be highly organized, attention to detail, creative, have strong computer based skills, including excel, word and the ability to lift boxes up to 30 lbs and go up and down stairs. This position is full time, 40 hours per week with full benefits. Candidates must also demonstrate flexibility, excellent communication skills and have a collaborative spirit. Pacific Charter Institute supports the fluidity and adaptability of an independent study program focused on college preparatory academic achievement to meet the individual needs of each student. The traditional educational system meets the needs of the majority of students. The students whose needs are not met and remain in the public school system typically enroll in schools that offer limited or no college preparatory programs. During this period of turmoil for the student, many drop out of school altogether. Experienced educators formed PCI, a non-profit 501(c) 3 public benefit corporation, incorporated in 2005. PCI currently operates 4 high-quality, K-12 Independent Study program: Heritage Peak Charter School, Rio Valley Charter School, Valley View Charter Prep and Sutter Peak Charter Academy. PCI offers students that choose a different path the opportunity to maintain access to four-year college, while engaging in school in the manner that is effective for them. The school actively mentors new students, taking them from where they are to where they become competitive with their peers and become educated 21st century individuals. PCI has a vision for developing self-motivated, educated individuals who will spread the wealth of knowledge worldwide in a meaningful way. The mission of PCI empowers students to take charge of their education by connecting their individual needs and interests to a rigorous learning plan, thus creating self-motivated responsible citizens, critical problem-solvers, and lifelong learners. PCI offers full time employees a generous benefit package, including medical, dental and vision. A 401k plan is also available with an employer contribution.
