The Chabot – Las Positas Community College District is seeking a PT Instructor, Political Science for Chabot College in Hayward for our adjunct pool. Ideal candidates will have community college experience teaching Political Science. EOE.

Potential courses available Spring 2020 and the 20-21 Academic Year:

(Times and dates of available courses TBD – possibility course may be taught in face to face and/or online modalities.)

Spring 2020:

• Introduction to American Government

(The course will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30a.m. – 11:45a.m.) 

2020-2021 Academic Year:

• Politics of Race and Gender

• Introduction to Public Policy

• Introduction to Global Studies

• Issues in Global Studies

• Introduction to American Government

Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in political science, government or international relations OR Bachelor’s in any of the above AND Master’s in economics, history, public administration, social science, sociology, any ethnic studies, JD or LL.B. OR the equivalent.

Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.                                       

Desirable qualifications: Experience in teaching online or willingness to learn to do so.
