Mercy High School, a Catholic diocesan, college preparatory school is committed to the development of the whole person, empowering our graduates to affect positive change in the world. Our vision is to form students in the Catholic tradition through the pursuit of academic excellence, spiritual growth, personal integrity, and service to others. Job duties include holding an organized team practice daily each weekday afternoon following the school day, coach games as scheduled (typically Tuesdays and Fridays) and travel with the team when required including two weekend tournaments. The goals of the JV team include successful instruction in rules of the game, skills instruction, conditioning, team building, leadership and teamwork, responsibility, and overall readiness to play at the next level. Candidates should be able to pass DOJ fingerprinting and additional screening, successfully complete CPR training and additional NFHS training as required by the school. If hired, this position reports directly to the Athletic Director and works in tandem with other coaches in the boy's basketball program. Prior high school coaching or equivalent experience in a middle school program required.
