Currently seeking an Assistant Superintendent for the Mariposa County Unified School District and County Office of Education. Under the direction of the Superintendent of Schools, the Assistant Superintendent serves as the Superintendent’s designee in the absence of the Superintendent and is vested with the authority of the Superintendent to manage the day-to-day operations of the Mariposa County Unified School District. The Assistant Superintendent is responsible to assist and support the Superintendent in all areas necessary for the effective operation of the school district and the implementation of school board policies. This responsibility includes assisting the Superintendent with the general administration of effective educational programs and services, efficient business operations, district projects, and all other district involvements, and for successfully meeting district goals. The Assistant Superintendent is a member of the Superintendent’s cabinet and assumes various leadership responsibilities at the direction of the Superintendent. The Assistant Superintendent is directly responsible for labor relations, negotiations and for oversight of all other human resources functions including staffing, hiring, leave administration, policy administration, performance management and record keeping. The Assistant Superintendent is responsible for developing positive working relationships among staff and good rapport between the district and the community. Minimum 3 successful years experience in public school administration and supervision ? MA Degree in education or related field ? Valid California Administrative Service Credential required ? Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people ? Valid driver’s license ? A strong skill set in Human Resources and familiarity with multiple departments related to district operations.
