The Warehouse Delivery person position, under the direction of the Warehouse Foreperson,
receives, prepares and delivers warehouse materials, supplies and equipment to various District
• Drives a vehicle on a scheduled route to various schools, offices, and the warehouse
to pick up and deliver supplies, food, materials and equipment.
• Transports food services receipts.
• Assists in maintaining accurate and current files of records of receipt and issue of
items and flow of business forms through warehouse office.
• Loads and unloads delivery trucks and District vehicles.
• Inspects incoming stock for conformity to purchase orders and packing lists, and
reports shortages, damages and other discrepancies.
• Assists with stocking warehouse shelves as needed; assists in warehouse inventory as
• Maintains storage facilities and equipment in a clean and orderly condition in
compliance with safety rules.
• Delivers and picks up business mail to/from post office, work sites, and outside
• Performs related tasks as required.
Knowledge of:
• Modern warehouse methods and equipment.
• The proper methods of handling, storing, wrapping, and packing all types of items,
including fragile and perishable materials.
• General clerical work as applied to storekeeping.
• Health regulations and safe working methods and procedures.
• Proper lifting techniques.
• District policies, rules and regulations.
Ability to:
• Operate forklift and other equipment and vehicles use in warehouse and delivery
• Drive District vehicles.
• Do general clerical work as applied to storekeeping.
• Perform necessary physical handling of stock.
• Observe health and safety regulations..
• Work cooperatively with others.
• Understand, follow, and implement oral and written instructions.
Education/Training/Required Certification:
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Six months of recent experience in receiving, storing, or issuing of equipment,
supplies, food and materials.
• Possession of a valid California’s Driver’s License.
• Valid forklift certification.
