Title of Position: Education Specialist Intern Directly Responsible to: Director of Student Support Services Status: Exempt Primary Function: Supports the Special Education team in developing and implementing special education support services that align with the school’s constructivist & standards-based curriculum in the appropriate subject matter and grade level. Provides data and technical support to the Special Education program. Creates a healthy and safe learning environment that demonstrates respect for all and supports student success. Communicates and partners effectively with colleagues and parents to support student learning. Continually assesses student learning and adapts to evaluation data to continually improve the school’s academic program. Minimum Qualifications: (*) Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (*) Current participation in a Mild/Moderate Education Specialist Instruction Credential Program (*) NCLB compliance (*) TB Test clearance & DOJ finger printing clearance (*) Familiarity with the new CA Common Core State Standards (*) An enthusiasm for curriculum development to support a young and growing school program
