Job Summary

Under the direction of the Site Administrator or Director-Special Education, assist a certificated teacher in reinforcing instruction to individuals or small groups of students with special needs assigned to a Resource Specialist Program (RSP), Special Day Class (SDC) or general education classroom environment; assist in the preparation of instructional materials and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs); assist in the presentation and preparation of learning materials, lesson plans and instructional exercises; perform routine clerical and supportive tasks for instructional personnel.

Any combinations of experience and training which would indicate possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities listed herein. Completion of the 12th grade or equivalent; college courses in child growth and development, elementary education and / or psychology desirable, experience working with children.

Any combination of experience and training which would indicate possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities listed herein. Completion of the 12th grade or equivalent, and Two years of college courses (48 units) or AA Degree (or higher) or Pass the ESSA (NCLB) Paraprofessional Test (available at our district office). Two years’ experience working with students; or college course work in psychology, child growth and development or education may be substituted for experience. *** Please attach a copy of your transcripts or degree to meet this requirement. ***
