Job Overview: Teach music to grades K, 1, 2, and 3 following the California music standards for each grade level in a classroom setting. Provide opportunities for students to understand artistic perception and creative expression through song and play. Responsibilities and Duties: Ability to teach whole and half classes Availability to help with special music programs Participate in an informal performance at Open House Participate in Stream Night Eventually, coordinate and lead the school choir Qualifications: Experience teaching young children in a classroom setting General music knowledge Ability to read music or understand music notation and musical symbols Play an instrument or understand the methodologies of certain instruments
