EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Must be twenty-one (21) years old by the filing deadline. Two (2) years prior law enforcement experience is desired. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS High school graduation or equivalent and graduate of the Peace Officers Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) Basic Academy are required. Associate Arts Degree or equivalent is desirable. LICENSE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS Possession of a valid California Class C Drivers’ License, with a good driving record, and proof of insurance are required. Completion of Peace Officers Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) Basic Academy and Training as identified in California Government Code Section 1031, and eligibility for certification within one-year of appointment, if not already certified; successful completion of physical agility test, firearms certification, report writing, communication skills test, and P.O.S.T. Field Training Officer Program. No Felony convictions under California Government Code Section 1029. Must be a US Citizen. We serve approximately 28,000 students who come from families that speak 46 languages. Our district includes four comprehensive high schools, five middle schools and 28 elementary schools. Twin Rivers also offers families the option of two alternative high schools, two special education centers, an independent learning center, a community day school, an opportunity school, preschools, three dependent charter schools and Twin Rivers Adult School. Twin Rivers encompasses 120 square miles in a growing, ethnically diverse region characterized by a mix of suburban development and light industry.
