MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Emergency 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit OR Valid CA Teaching Credential DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Successful substitute teaching experience. Experience with students of differing cultural backgrounds/learning styles. REQUIRED DOCUMENTS - Upload to application Copy of Credential Copy of Bachelor's Degree Copy of CBEST passing results or CSET, CSU EAP Placement Tests, SAT or ACT Letter of Introduction Resume Two Letters of Recommendation APPLICATIONS ARE ACCEPTED ELECTRONICALLY THROUGH THE EDJOIN WEBSITE. Once your application has been submitted, Adult School Administration will review your qualifications by screening your application. If eligible, you will be contacted by the Adult School regarding next steps.

DESCRIPTION
Substitute teachers serve as day-to-day substitutes to provide continuity of daily education during their regular teacher's absence. To maintain classroom routines, substitute teachers are expected to take attendance and implement the lesson plans for the class to which they are assigned.
The San Mateo Adult School includes the largest program for those learning English in San Mateo County offering English as a Second Language classes in the morning (9:00-12:00pm), afternoon (12:30-3:30pm) and evening (6:30-9:30pm) as well as General Education Development (GED) and High School Diploma classes.
