Regional Manager / Educational Facilitator

The Regional Manager / Educational Facilitator is an adjunct position with Dimensions Collaborative School, which is operated by Element Education. This position reports to the School Director and is primarily responsible in providing support and guidance to parents and facilitating student learning which includes, but is not limited to, assessing, developing, planning, organizing, and monitoring comprehensive educational plans for the desired success of each student

Essential Functions

Personnel

  1. Assist Directors in employee recruitment, hiring, and evaluation

  2. Mentor/coach staff as needed

  3. Conduct regional meetings twice each month

  4. Serve as a liaison between the School Director and the Educational Facilitators

  5. Assist with maintaining a positive and effective work environment

  6. Manage student enrollment and staff rosters in accordance with the school budget and charter

  7. Communicate with the School Director regularly; attend all Leadership meetings

  8. Assist with staff meetings

  9. Observe instruction and assist with performance reflections

  10. Treat all staff with respect, provide opportunities for participation in decision making, and be responsive to the needs of staff members

Facility Management 

  1. Implement safety plan policies and procedures

  2. Serve as a liaison to the landlord, if applicable, vendors, and the School Director

  3. Assess effectiveness of facility and needs for relocation and/or expansion

  4. Monitor relocation and expansion plans

  5. Coordinate daily maintenance and cleanliness of facility

Support Student Learning

  1. Establish class offerings and schedule based on the needs of the students in the region

  2. Monitor communication of the resource center schedules, activities, and instruction to the parents and students

  3. Coordinate with colleagues for continuity and quality programs and activities

  4. Attend SST and IEP meetings and work with the Special Education personnel to see that all students are properly served

  5. Observe instruction to ensure personalized and engaged learning

  6. Attend all resource center functions

  7. Ensure high expectations for each child’s individual academic and social growth

  8. Collaborate with parents and students on goals, objectives, and assignments which integrate state standards with student interests and talents; establish summative assessment tools

  9. Collaborate with parents and students on methods of study and relevant learning plans which best fit students' learning styles and academic needs while offering opportunities for mastery, autonomy, and a sense of purpose

  10. Collaborate with parents and students on preparing the learning environment in accordance with students' learning styles and school's philosophy

  11. Provide appropriate learning resources and educational materials, including collaborating with Learning Center staff and Instructors, to complete assignments related to Personalized Plan and Record (PPR) in a timely manner

  12. Assess regularly for academic growth and planning; Use formative assessment and self-reflection to guide learning

  13. Communicate academic assessment to parents and students through regular reports and semester report cards

  14. Monitor Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals and objectives

  15. Meet with student and parent, as needed, but at least the miminum required by the school, to discuss progress made on learnign plan

  16. Assist parent and student in maintenance of learning portfolio / learning management system

  17. Collaborate with specialized instructors, as needed, to meet the needs of all students

  18. Assist with organizing field trips

  19. Provide course instruction, including preparation

  20. Provide syllabi, communiques, assignments, and project updates to the Regional Manager each learning period

  21. Collaborate with other EFs in evaluating student work for learning center classes

  22. Assist with tthe coordination of subject area classes offered including, but not limited to, planning and ordering supplies

  23. Maintain open communication with students and parents on a weekly basis

Accountability and General Administration

  1. Coordinate assessment and accountability programs within region

  2. Monitor quality of student records

  3. Ensure compliance with independent study regulations

  4. Assist with WASC accreditation

  5. Maintain student records in accordance with school policies and procedures

  6. Manage school resources in accordance with school policies and procedures

  7. Manage EF budget in accordance with school policies and procedures

  8. Return all correspondence, including phone calls and emails, in a timely manner; Be accessible during work hours 

  9. Support students in preparation for and completion of state standardized tests

  10. Help organize and proctor all state standardized tests

  11. Assist with the supervision of the learning center, as needed

  12. Ensure safety of students, including conducting emergency drills and clearning of facility

  13. Attend and actively participate in all required meetings, trainings, and school functions; Proote and participate in creative exchange of ideas

  14. Observe confidentiality

Public Relations

  1. Promote the program within and outside of the region, including attending public events and networking with community businesses/leaders

  2. Coordinate and publicize social events for students and families

  3. Organize parent workshops, tours, and informational meetings

  4. Host/Coordinate a minimum of one service learning project within the region per year

  5. Support the creation and distribution of school yearbooks by recruiting students, uploading photos, etc.

  6. Maintain an up-to-date webpage on school website; maintain social media pages

  7. Inform appropriate personnel of events and student highlights

  8. Communicate school highlights and activities to parents; Maintain open and honest communication with families

  9. Recruit students as necessary

  10. Seek opportunities for parents and students to connect with and support each other

  11. Develop positive relationships with parents and the general public associated with the organization

  12. Communicate and support the school's mission, policies, and procedures

  13. Represent Element Education and its programs in a positive and professional manner

  14. Act as a liaison between parents and staff, as needed

Professional and Organization Development

  1. Read a minimum of 2 books annually from required / recommended reading lists or in accordance with the EF's organization goals
  2. Seek innovative approaches to self-directed learning and formal training
  3. Practice reflective observation regularly; Maintain growth mindset
  4. In collaboration with the School Director, plan for own career growth and ongoing professional development
  5. Understand and contribute to the Organization's vision, growth, and development 
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  1. Understanding of Personalized Learning Model
  2. Knowledge of and experience with a wide range of K-12 curricula in all subject areas
  3. Knowledge of and experience with a wide range of educational philosophies
  4. Knowledge of the A-G requirements for high school students on the UC/CSU path
  5. Manage a home office and flexible schedule
  6. Familiarity and commitment to the mission and educational philosophy of Element Education
  7. Ability to maintain records
  8. Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding parents, families, and staff
  9. Ability to exercise emotional maturity in communicating with students, parents, and colleagues
  10. Demonstrate considerable knowledge of computers and all aspects of the Microsoft Office
  11. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines
  12. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; Use appropriate language, tone, and English usage

Salary: $70,959 - $104,839
