Job Summary

Under the direction of the Principal, or site administrator manage and monitor the acquisition, processing and distribution of textbooks, audiovisual and other instructional materials for school site; maintain circulation procedures and the check-in/check-out of books and materials; inspect warehouse shipments for conformity to purchase order specifications.

      Knowledge of: General textbook circulation functions. Modern office methods, practices and procedures. Basic inventory practices and procedures. Record keeping and filing techniques. Operation of a variety of related office equipment including a computer and assigned software. Textbook and instructional material cataloging and classification. Data control procedures and data entry operations. Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary. Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy. Oral and written communication skills. Basic research methods. Basic arithmetic concepts. Ability to: Perform a variety of clerical duties involved in the circulation, maintenance and distribution of textbooks and assigned instructional materials. Check books in and out of the school library. Type or input data at an acceptable rate of speed. Process and shelve textbooks and instructional materials. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others and maintain regular attendance. Maintain records and files. Perform routine arithmetical calculations Operate a variety of office equipment including a computer and assigned software. Understand and follow oral and written instructions. Meet schedules and time lines. Complete work with many interruptions.
