Regional Manager
The Regional Manager is a certificated, exempt position with Community Montessori which is operated by Element Education. The Regional Manager reports to the School Director.
Essential Functions
Personnel
- Assist Directors in employee recruitment, hiring, and evaluation
- Mentor/coach staff as needed
- Conduct regional meetings once a month
- Serve as liaison between the School Director and the Educational Facilitators
- Assist with maintaining a positive and effective work environment
- Assist with managing student enrollment and staff rosters in accordance with the school budget and charter
- Communicate with the School Director regularly; attend all Leadership meetings
- Assist with staff meetings
- Observe instruction and assist with performance reflections
- Treat all staff with respect, provide opportunities for participation in decision making, and be responsive to the human needs of staff members
Facility Management
- Implement safety plan policies and procedures
- Serve as a liaison to the landlord (if applicable), vendors, and the School Director
- Assess effectiveness of facility and needs for relocation and/or expansion
- Monitor relocation and expansion plans
- Coordinate daily maintenance and cleanliness of facility
Support Student Learning
- Establish class offerings and schedule based on the needs of the students in the region
- Monitor communication of the Region’s schedules, activities, instruction, etc. to parents and students
- Coordinate with colleagues for continuity and quality programs and activities
- Lead SST and IEP meetings and work with Special Education personnel to see that all students are properly served
- Observe instruction to ensure personalized and engaged learning
- Attend all of the Region’s functions
- Ensure high expectations for each child’s individual academic and social growth
Accountability
- Coordinate assessment and accountability programs within the region
- Monitor quality of student records
- Maintain student records in accordance with school policies and procedures
- Manage school resources in accordance with school policies and procedures
- Support students in preparation for and completion of state standardized tests
- Ensure compliance with independent study regulations
- Attend all required meetings and trainings
- Comply with all aspects of safety plan
- Observes confidentiality
Public Relations
- Promote program within the region
- Coordinate and publicize social events for students and families
- Organize parent workshops, tours, and informational meetings
- Host/Coordinate a minimum of one service learning project within the region per year
- Support creation and distribution of school yearbooks including, but not limited to, recruiting students and uploading photos
- Maintain an up-to-date webpage on the school website; maintain social media pages
- Inform appropriate personnel of events and student highlights
- Communicate school highlights and activities to parents
- Recruit students as necessary
- Seek opportunities for parents and students to connect with and support each other
- Act as a liaison between parents and staff, if needed
- Develop positive relationships with parents and general public associated with the Organization
- Communicate and support the school’s mission, policies, and procedures
- Represent Element Education and its programs in a positive and professional manner
Professional and Organizational Development
- Read a minimum of two books annually from required/recommended reading lists or in accordance with the EF’s organization goals
- Seek innovative approaches to self-directed learning
- Practice reflective observation regularly
- In collaboration with the School Director, plan for own career growth and ongoing professional development
- Other duties as assigned
- Maintain a student roster as determined by the School Director
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Deep-rooted understanding and practice of the Montessori philosophy, including knowledge of and experience with a wide range of other educational philosophies
- Understanding of Personalized Learning Model
- Knowledge of and experience with a wide range of K-8 curricula in all subject areas
- Familiarity and commitment to the mission and educational philosophy of Element Education
- Ability to maintain records as directed by supervisor
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding parents, families, and staff
- Ability to exercise emotional maturity in communicating with students, parents, and colleagues
- Demonstrate considerable knowledge of computers and all aspects of the Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Demonstrate good judgement
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships; be approachable and professional
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; be self-motivated and well-organized
- Ability to think strategically and independently
Requirements
- Possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- Possess a current, clear, multiple or single subject, California teaching credential.
- Possess or will obtain Montessori training within first year of employment

- Reliable vehicle and 100/300 auto insurance coverage
- Proof that employee is free of active tuberculosis (i.e. TB risk assessment, TB test, X-ray, etc.)
- Successful background clearance
Salary: $70,959 - $104,839
Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package (FT Only); STRS; school holidays
Work Schedule: 11 months

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to read, speak, see, and hear well enough to communicate by telephone, electronically, in person, and in the classroom. Employee must also regularly be able to write, file, type, and operate a computer, telephone, general office equipment, and classroom equipment. While in the classroom, the employee is also regularly required to extend arm with upper extremities to write on white board which may require neck rotation to look back at the class. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk throughout the classroom while maneuvering in tight spaces as well as frequently kneel, stoop, or crouch when working with classroom equipment, helping students, etc. A moderate amount of work is completed on electronic mobile and desktop devices. The employee will occasionally sit for an extended period of time which is done at a desk with forward bending from the waist, leaning on forearms, and looking down which requires neck flexion. It is necessary to grasp and manipulate pens, markers, scissors, staplers, etc., occasionally or frequently, depending on the day. Employee might occasionally move materials and classroom furniture to manipulate the classroom layout and be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
The employee must have reliable transportation and be able attend meetings at various Element Education regions.

This position works in a variety of settings includng classrooms and outdoors and may experience heat or cold extremes as well as fumes, odors, and dust.
