POSITION DESCRIPTION: The purpose of the Teacher for the Visually Impaired is to provide an educational program for students who are visually impaired and assist these students in successfully participating academically, and/or socially in their classrooms. This position is designated as a certificated teaching position and is under the supervision of a program principal. The position may supervise related support staff as assigned. Please see job description for list of job functions and minimum qualifications. EXPERIENCE: Job related experience is desired. EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university is required; master's degree desirable.

CERTIFICATES/CREDENTIALS/LICENSES: •Valid California Credential authorizing service to visually impaired students (You must provide evidence of qualifying for this credential with your application) •CTEL Certification or EL equivalent such as CLAD, BCLAD, or SDAIE is required. •Valid CA Driver's License PREEMPLOYMENT •Fingerprint clearance •TB clearance •Some offers of employment are contingent upon successful passing of a physical examination including documentation, immunizations and/or exemption as required by state regulations (including but not limited to measles, pertussis and influenza) ***TO BE CONSIDERED, ALL APPLICANTS ARE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE TARGET SUCCESS TEACHER SKETCH SURVEY BEFORE DEADLINE DATE.
