Part-Time/Full-Time Religion Teacher.  Applicant should be ready to provide an instructional program that educates students through an approach to learning and living consistent with the Catholic faith and Catholic social teaching.  Placement on the salary scale is based on years of experience and units past bachelor's degree.

Follow the CCHS mission in all aspects of student life Supports the school’s philosophy and values, especially by one’s respect for and to students and staff Perform all teaching duties in a competent, professional and Christian manner Keep accurate attendance records for each class Structure a physical classroom conducive to learning and maintain its neatness Establish an efficient classroom management procedures and confer with administration about all disciplinary actions Develops and updates curriculum guides for each class taught on an annual basis and submits all changes to administration Uses the entire assigned class period to deliver assigned or related course content Evaluate students on a regular basis through various forms of assessment including homework that is appropriate, reasonable and academically sound Provide planned learning experiences using a variety of instructional methods and strategies in order to motivate students Identify students’ needs and work cooperatively to ensure that these needs are met Correct, return and record all assignments in a timely manner Maintain effective oral and written communication with school administration, parents and students for all academic and disciplinary issues Be available to students for assistance and make-ups outside of the school day Uses assigned teacher preparation periods effectively Attends and participates in all faculty meetings, school related meetings, activities and projects Supervise students in out of classroom activities that occur within the regular day and provide control supervision at school events and on the school grounds Perform adjunct duties as assigned Provide lesson plans for substitutes Secure the approval of the principal for all communication and/or correspondence sent from the school Assume responsibility for continued professional development opportunities through CCHS and beyond Meets all deadlines set by administration

EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS/EXPERIENCE Required: Bachelor's degree Preferred: CA Teaching Credential, and/or Master’s Degree Finger Printing CPR/First-aidSubmit follow items; Resume Letter of Interest 3 Letters of Reference Proof of Degree Knowledge of principles, theories, practices and techniques used in curriculum development and classroom instruction Knowledge of classroom procedures which promote appropriate student conduct and motivation for learning Ability to adapt plans to meet different needs of students Ability to establish effective rapport with students Ability to motivate students to develop skills, knowledge and attitude needed to build a solid foundation for learning Ability to monitor students in the classroom Ability to use good judgment in making decisions Ability to maintain professional relationships with administrators, fellow teachers, parents and students
