Job Summary

Job Summary

Under the supervision of a designated program manager, assists a certificated instructor in all areas as assigned and assists in maintaining a classroom conducive to learning. The Health Assistant/Paraeducator is trained in basic nursing techniques and direct patient care. The Health Assistant/ Paraeducator provides specialized health care procedures as needed for designated students in the classroom and other school areas.

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. An Associate degree or 48 units from an institution of higher education. Otherwise, a passing grade on all sections of the assessment test given by SCOE and a minimum of two (2) college units or CEUs in related field. Must possess a current California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) License or a Registered Nurse (RN) License. MUST HAVE minimum six (6) months experience working with children. Must have CPR and first aid certification, or ability to obtain. Possession of a valid California driver’s license preferred.
