          DESCRIPTION: Substitute Teachers serve as day-to-day substitutes to provide continuity of daily education to high school students during their regular teacher's absence. Services are on an as needed, on-call basis. The San Mateo Union High School District provides education to a diverse range of approximately 8,500 students attending six highly rated comprehensive high schools, an alternative high school where students voluntarily recover credits, and a special Middle College program in conjunction with the College of San Mateo..
