Requirements / Qualifications

**Position starting 2019-20 School Year** POSITION DESCRIPTION: The position of Payroll Assistant performs various technical and clerical tasks related to the successful processing and reconciliation of RCOE payroll and employee leave activity; applies current federal and state regulations in the processing of payroll and employee leave activity. The incumbent works directly with RCOE timekeepers to obtain the information necessary to accurately and timely compensate RCOE employees. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Two years of experience in payroll, employee leaves and attendance, or related accounting record-keeping work required. Experience with county office of education or K-12 school district payroll is desired. REQUIRED EDUCATION: Targeted job related education that meets the organization’s prerequisite requirements. Completion of at least one year (24 semester/36 quarter hours of course work) or approved college level courses in payroll, accounting, or business training. One year of additional qualifying experience working in county office of education or K-12 school district payroll operation may be substituted for educational requirement. REQUIRED TESTING: Once this position closes, your application will be screened for minimum qualifications. Those who meet the minimum qualifications will be e-mailed an invitation for testing. Testing is tentatively scheduled to be conducted on May 17, 2019.
