$35.08 - $66.24 an hour as per the Certificated Salary Schedule. Additional $1,621 awarded annually for an MA, PhD, or EdD earned from an accredited college or university (prorated for part time employment).

7 hours per day, 5 days per week, 220 days per year beginning July 1, 2019 pending successful fingerprint clearance, pre-employment physical (first-time teachers only) and submission of recent tuberculosis test as required by the California Education Code

BASIC FUNCTION: Under the general supervision of the Director of the Special Education, initiate and coordinate activities; assist County Office, district and site staff in the assessment of student performance and learning styles; consult with classroom and administrative staff in the areas of instruction, curriculum and behavior management; assist in identifying, developing and implementing appropriate use of resources for instructional applications; provide a variety of instructional services within County Office classrooms and the districts; and perform related duties, as assigned. Contact with others includes peers and supervisors within the department; routine contact with district administrators; teachers at various functions; parents/guardians; local and county agencies (i.e., Mental Health, Probation, etc.); public and private employers and employment agencies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Possess valid California Education Specialist Mild/Moderate Credential with an English Learner authorization, which authorizes Resource services; OR • Possess a valid Special Education Learning Handicapped teaching credential and a Resource Specialist Certificate, and an English Learner authorization; • A Master of Arts Degree from an accredited college or university with an emphasis in special education or closely related field, preferred; • Three (3) years of teaching experience preferred; • Possess or obtain upon employment, a valid California Driver’s License; • Provide proof of automobile insurability; • Meet the physical requirements necessary to perform assigned duties safely and effectively, including lifting fifty (50) pounds on an occasional basis and in excess of fifty (50) pounds with assistance.
