POSITION DESCRIPTION: The position of Director I, Personnel Services is responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, directing, and administering personnel services for certificated, classified, substitute personnel, and management employees of the Riverside County Office of Education. The position participates in negotiations with employee organizations, institutes related personnel policies and procedures; and develops and monitors a large multifaceted budget. The position supervises Administrators, Coordinators, Managers, related subject matter professionals, technical staff, and support staff as assigned. This position is designated as a Certificated or Classified Management position and is part of the Management Leadership Team and Administrative Council. EXPERIENCE: At least five (5) years recent experience in public school administration which would demonstrate competence in the required personnel related skills, knowledge and abilities necessary to support instructional programs. Three (3) years of public school central office administrative experience, two (2) of which are directly related to personnel services administration in an educational setting. Two or more years of experience as a member of the negotiations team for collective bargaining, as well as experience in conducting personnel related investigations, facilitating resolution of grievances and processing discrimination complaints is required. EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field from an accredited College/University required. Master’s degree preferred.
