Core instruction includes comprehensive traditional academic subjects extended to include character development, digital literacy, art, music, hands-on science, and physical education. All schools offer embedded programs to address specific needs of gifted students and English Learners. Each school maintains a 1.0–1.5 full time positions to support intervention needs for all students. Each student in grades 3-6 has 1:1 access to Chromebooks. Job Summary

Assessment and treatment of student illness and injuries within the scope of professional nurse practice. Training, support and oversight of Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAPs). Implementation and oversight of individualized health care plans for students with acute and chronic health conditions. Coordinate with health care providers, appropriate accommodations for students with special health needs. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to provide nursing expertise for individual students and general health policies and procedures. Screen students for health problems that may create a barrier to educational progress or success. Refer students with health problems to appropriate health care providers and community agencies. Promotion of a healthy school environment including physical and emotional safety by monitoring playgrounds, indoor and outdoor air quality, natural disasters, violence, bullying and terrorism events. Promotion of healthy lifestyle choices by educating students and families on nutrition, exercise, hygiene, immunizations and infectious diseases.

B.A. or B.S. degree or higher from an accredited college or university. Current California Registered Nurse (RN) License. Current CPR certificate for Health Care Providers. Current California School Nurse Services Credential (Preliminary Credential may be obtained once employed). Three years experience as a Registered Nurse.
