About the Employer

We are a unified school district serving more than 16,150 students in grades K -12. We have thirteen elementary schools, four middle schools, two comprehensive high schools, three specialized high schools, two alternative high schools and one K-8 school. We also offer a home schooling program, adult education courses and other unique programs to fit the needs of all students. Our school district employs approximately 1,100 certificated and nearly 900 classified employees. Antioch Unified School District is centrally located in the East Bay and provides ready access to scenic mountains, waterfronts, wine country, historical sites and the Pacific Ocean. Eligibility is determined via an evaluation and competitive screening/scoring of a candidate’s training and experience as demonstrated on the application and responses provided in the supplemental questions.

BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, perform a variety of duties involved in student attendance record-keeping and reporting activities; process and verify excused and unexcused absences; distribute, collect and process attendance and various other forms and documents. REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and two years clerical experience including record-keeping duties and work with student attendance functions

KNOWLEDGE OF: General student attendance policies, procedures, terminology and attendance accounting methods; Operation of a computer and assigned software; Modern office practices, procedures and equipment; Record-keeping and report preparation techniques; Data control procedures and data entry operations; Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary; Record retrieval and storage systems; Oral and written communication skills; Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy; Methods of collecting and organizing data and information; Basic mathematics (see job description for full details). EXAMINATIONS: The selection process will consist of an application screening for completeness and qualifications. A written exam (weighted 40%) and an oral interview exam (weighted 60%). A passing score must be achieved on each portion of the exams. Written exam scheduled for Monday, April 29, 2019. Oral exam date: TBD. If your application is accepted to move forward with the examination process, you will be notified via U. S. mail and/or email of the time and location. Final selection will be made from those who achieve the three highest ranking scores.
