          Given the necessary materials and equipment, teaches hearing impaired students communication skills (speech, lip-reading, fingerspelling, sign language) development of oral language, reading and written language, auditory training and use of residual hearing and acquisition of academic subjects of the regular curriculum modified for hearing impaired students, and performs other duties as needed.
