Regional Assistant
The Regional Assistant position is a classified, non-exempt position with Dimensions Collaborative School, which is operated by Element Education. The Regional Assistant reports to the Regional Manager and is primarily responsible for assisting with the management of the resource center.
Essential Functions
Support Student Learning
- Ensure high expectations for each student’s individual academic and social growth
- Have knowledge of each student attending the resource center
- Assist with preparation for meetings, public events, parent workshops, and informational meetings
- Create flyers, letters, spreadsheets, etc.
- Maintain filing systems and office organization; make copies and order supplies
- Supervise students
- Tend to injured/ill students
- Transport students to and from activities
- Assist with the region’s yearbook pages
- Track student Educational Units (EUs)
- Substitute for EFs and Instructors, as needed
Accountability
- Maintain attendance and enrollment records for classes; maintain emergency student contact cards
- Assists in executing, with input from community and staff, school plans and procedures for safety, supervision, conduct, and discipline of students
- Serve as a liaison to the landlord, if applicable, vendors, and the School Director
- Coordinate daily maintenance and cleanliness of facility
- Attend all required meetings and trainings
- Comply with the safety plan
- Observe confidentiality
Public Relations
- Assist with maintaining a positive and effective work environment
- Treat all staff with respect, provide opportunities for participation in decision making, and be responsive to the needs of staff members
- Coordinate and publicize social events for students and families
- Communicate with parents via email and Parent Square
- Maintain up-to-date webpage on school website; Maintain social media sites
- Respond to parent calls/concerns
- Greet visitors and answer phones
- Develop positive relationships with parents and general public associated with the organization
- Communicate and support the school’s mission, policies, and procedures
- Represent Element Education and its programs in a positive and professional manner
Professional and Organizational Development
- In collaboration with the Regional Manager and School Director, plan for own career growth and ongoing professional development
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Previous office experience preferred
- Previous experience working with students preferred
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; be self-motivated and well-organized
- Familiarity and commitment to the mission and educational philosophy of Element Education
- Ability to maintain records
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding parents, families, and staff
- Ability to exercise emotional maturity in communicating with students, parents, and colleagues
- Demonstrate considerable knowledge of computers and all aspects of the Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Demonstrate good judgement
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships; be approachable and professional
- Ability to think strategically and independently
Requirements
- High school diploma (or equivalent)
Upon Hire/Offer
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification
- Proof that employee is free of active tuberculosis (i.e. TB risk assessment, TB test, X-ray, etc.)
- Reliable vehicle and 50/100 auto insurance coverage
- Successful background clearance
Salary: $14.04-$21.78 per hour
Work Schedule: Determined by School Director

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit for an extended period of time. Sitting is done at a desk with forward bending from the waist, leaning on the forearms, and looking down which requires neck flexion. The employee is regularly required to read, speak, see, and hear well enough to communicate by telephone, electronically, and in person. Job duties are occasionally performed on electronic mobile and desktop devices. Employee must also regularly be able to write, file, type and operate a computer, telephone, and general office equipment. It is necessary to grasp and manipulate pens, markers, scissors, staplers, etc., either occasionally or frequently, depending on the day. May occasionally have to climb up stairs, stoop, kneel, and/or lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
The employee must have reliable transportation and be able to attend meetings at various Element Education regions.

The employee spends majority of the time in normal office working conditions. Employee may work outdoors to supervise students and may experience heat or cold extremes as well as fumes, odors, dust; noise level is moderate to loud.
