Supervisor – One to One

 

 

Definition:

              Under the supervision of the principal assumes responsibility for the safety and welfare of a student under his/her charge while student is in the classroom, lunch area, playground and while student is on his/her way to and from designated areas.

 

Duties:

  • Supervise student
  • Maintain discipline and control of student while the student is under their supervision
  • Report any unsafe conditions/behavior to principal
  • Maintain visible contact with student at all times while the student is under their supervision
  • Other duties as assigned in the classroom for the supervised student
  • Record student behavior
  • Implement behavior reward system
  • Implement the students specific behavior plan and goals

 

Qualifications:

 

Ability to:

  • Communicate in English and the language of the student under their charge       
  • Supervise student in order to maintain appropriate safety and order
  • Follow oral and written instructions and directions in English
  • Ability to understand student specific goals and plans

 

 

Knowledge of:

 

  • Basic first aid procedures
  • The District discipline philosophy

 

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

 

Physical Requirements:

 

  • Physical mobility and stamina sufficient to move, sit, stand, run or walk for prolonged periods of time.
  • Physical strength sufficient to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent activity requiring full-body exertion.
  • Ability to see for purposes of supervising student on playground (including grass and blacktop areas), lunch area, classrooms and his/her way to and from designated areas.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to write, and use telephone.
  • Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels in person and/or on the telephone.
  • Ability to communicate so others will be able to clearly understand a normal conversation in person and/or on the telephone
  • Mental acuity to collect and interpret data, evaluate, reason, define problems, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, make valid judgments and decisions
