Job Summary

Job Summary

GENERAL INFORMATION: Napa County Office of Education operates a Safe Routes to School (SRTS) program. NCOE is interested in hiring an individual to coordinate and assist with the development of the SRTS program. The SRTS program delivers services to students across Napa County. Napa Safe Routes to School (SRTS) works to make conditions better for people who bicycle, walk and use public transit, thereby making Napa a better place to live, work, and play. SRTS believes that whether people bike or walk for exercise, to work, or for fun, they should do it enjoyably. Each day, however, the region’s bicyclists and pedestrians contend with problems such as heavy traffic, limited bikeways, lack of public transportation and careless drivers. SRTS will teach pedestrian and bicycle safety to Napa school-age children, and encourage more people to walk and bike as a healthy transportation choice. We will do this by giving hands-on presentations to elementary, middle and high school students and attend events where parents, teachers, and other school officials will be present. SRTS events and activities are often coordinated with law enforcement and partner agencies.
