St. John the Baptist Catholic School is seeking a compassionate and engaging Transitional Kindergarten (TK) Teacher for the 2019-20 school year. This is a full-time position that involves working with 4 and 5 year olds, collaborating with parents, and participating in the school community. Position: Transitional Kindergarten (TK) Teacher Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree • A child development teacher permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) • Appropriate health verification and satisfactory background check Preferred Requirements • Professional experience in a classroom setting with 4-5 year old children • Appropriate health verification and satisfactory background check Other Qualifications • Faithful, practicing Catholic • Commitment to the school mission and philosophy • Knowledgeable of best practices and educational methods • Ability to engage young children and earn their trust • Work as a team with the Kindergarten Teacher to foster a strong 2-year Kindergarten program • Organize, schedule and supervise children to ensure safety and develop social skills • Communicate and collaborate with parents and other school teachers • A candidate who has great love for, and patience with, children
